This photo is interesting for many reasons. But probably the most striking to the modern observer is the way people dressed to go to the coast in the mid-1920s.

This is a group from Tallman, Oregon at the Oregon Coast, about 1926. The exact location of this photo is unknown, but it was probably somewhere around Newport. Identification is available for only a few of these people. Seated, second from left, Bernard McClain. Standing, directly behind Bernard, Florence McClain (I think). Standing, sandwiched just left of the lady on the right holding the child: Addie McClain. Behind Addie, Arthur McClain.
A previous post mentioned what an ordeal it could be to get from the Tallman area to Newport in the mid-1920s.
