The caption in Dad’s photo album for these two photos is simply, “At Zehr’s, Summer 1928″—no explanation. Are these simply group photos of workers on the farm?

One wonders what functions the above group would have performed. I note in particular the person third from the right in the front row, who appears to be disabled or injured and who is being supported by the people on either side of her.

The photos are badly out of focus, so it is difficult to make out anything with confidence. Nevertheless it looks as though the person second from the right in the above might be Dad.
As you may have seen in previous posts, Dad worked for Peter Zehr and lived with the Zehr family from March 1928 until September 1929, when he drove to Richmond with Uncle Ed.
