Lloyd Wright, Zehr’s Farm, Spring 1928

According to Dad’s (Lloyd’s) notation on the back of this photo, it was taken in Spring “28” (as he wrote it).

Spring 1928 is when Dad started working on Peter Zehr’s farm. This photo was evidently taken in the yard of Zehr’s house. You may remember the fence from the photo in this post, also taken in Spring 1928. Judging from the lack of any foliage on the trees in either photo, it would seem they were taken fairly early in the spring.

There is no indication of any specific purpose for the above photo. Assuming it was taken with Dad’s camera (even though someone else must have pressed the shutter release lever), it may have been a photographic experiment on Dad’s part (considering the unusual pose). But that’s just a wild guess.

Whatever prompted this photo, I can at least say, “Oh to be 22 again!” ;–)

  1. Yes, a very handsome dude! Could that have been another one of his times when he pulled the shutter with a string or a wire?
