Rundback Boys, 1943

This is a little out of both chronological and contextual sequence, but I’m going to go ahead and post this photo while it’s in front of me. Mary McClain (Mom’s/Florence McClain’s cousin) has been mentioned several times recently. Here are Mary and Carl Rundback’s three sons in 1943.

Larry (3), Morton (9) and Kent (5) Rundback

So yet another thing that Mom and Mary had in common: they both had three sons. (But Mom had four daughters besides.)

Morton passed away in 1996 just shy of his 62nd birthday. To my knowledge, Kent and Larry are still living as I write this, as is Morton’s widow Charlotte.

According to Uncle Bernard McClain’s records (as of 1991):

  • Morton and Charlotte had children Cheryl, Guy, Michael and Michelle
  • Kent and wife Orla had children Roy and Brenda
  • Larry and wife Cathy had children Lina and Shawn

    1. I don’t have a lot to go on, but it would appear so. Morton is buried in Palisade, Nebraska and his widow was living there as of 2009. Kent was living in Paxton as recently as 2000. Larry was married in Arthur, Nebraska, but that was in 1970. I have nothing more recent on him.

  1. I know I met at least one of them in ’82. I believe it was Kent. He helped me clean the sand off of the underside of my car, after having gone down a heavily rutted sandy road to get to their place.

    1. That seems like a good guess, BB. From the meager information I have, it appears that Kent is the one who stayed in Paxton (though they all appear to have stayed in Nebraska).
