Another 1914 photo from Mom’s side of the family treeā¦

Here is Mom (on the right, of course) with her brother Bernard (Uncle Barney, to us). She was four and he was two.
Nothing to do with the subjects of the photo, but I find the lighting fascinating. I would love to know the source of that light that is low and off to the left of the frame. Standing in front of a fireplace or something?
Big floppy bows in girl’s hair must have been all the rage at this time. You see it in this photo, in the previous PotD, and in the PotD from the 14th, where Richard Wright’s daughters also have big bows in their hair.
