Lee Wright, Jefferson, c. 1929

This is a photo of Lee Wright, taken in Jefferson about 1929.

Not the clearest photo, unfortunately.

Lee would have turned eleven in 1929.

If you recognize the house in the background, I would be interested to hear.

  1. It appears to me that the house in the picture was the one that stood “katty-corner” from Gpa & Gma Wright’s house in Jefferson. To the right of the house is a rope with flags (?) stopping traffic from continuing. The river was very close behind those flags. I remember as kids we used to like walking down to the river, skipping rocks and such kid stuff.

    1. OK, thanks. Funny. I thought the “rope with flags” was a clothesline. But you’re saying that’s where the street goes down to the river (the old ferry landing). Thanks to Google Street View, I see that at least as of last year, that house was still standing, right where you said it was. So Uncle Lee and his bicycle are directly in front of the Wright house, then.
