This is Arthur and Addie McClain, taken in summer 1908 or summer 1909 (either way, they were still newlyweds).

I’m sorry this is such a grainy, dirty image. This photo was extremely faded and restoring it to point where you could see what was in it also brought out all the grain and dirt.
Arthur and Addie here seem to be wearing the same clothes they were wearing in the photo of the bicycle ride with Bessie, in this previous post, so it seems likely the photos were taken on the same day. The house behind them is the one at 1027 E Seventh. One can see in the photo of their first anniversary in this previous post that the lower part of the house was painted a darker color, which matches this photo. Addie was known to be a fan of sweet peas, which one can see trained up on the side of the house behind them.
It is really a very nice photo of them (except for the image quality). Both of them are almost smiling, which is probably as much as one could expect for the time. And they look so young!
