I find that knowing in the abstract that Aunt Betty was seven years younger than Mom doesn’t always translate automatically into practical implications. For example, it hadn’t occurred to me before that Mom and Dad had been married almost two years and had a daughter by the time Aunt Betty graduated from high school.
