Harold Wright, c. 1937, 1944

Below are a couple of photos of (Uncle) Harold Wright. First is a portrait that Dad (Lloyd Wright) estimated to have been taken in 1937 or 1938.

This would make Harold about 25 years old in this photo. Quite the handsome guy!

At some point Harold joined the Navy. Here is a group photo of him at the Naval Training Center in San Diego, May 10, 1944. I don’t know whether this means he had only just joined at this point, or whether he had been in for a while and was getting additional training. Harold was over 30 at this point.

You can find him right off, correct? No? It’s easy when you know where he is, anyway. ;–) He is in the lower right corner of the photo. Let’s zoom in so you can see him better.

Too bad! No more Errol Flynn mustache. Still handsome, though.

If my understanding is correct, Harold was a submariner. That would not be for the faint of heart at any time, but especially so during the war.
