Wright Children in the Spotlight, late 1942

The 1942 Christmas photo in this previous post was taken using some kind of rather harsh lighting inside the house at 406 N Geary. I don’t know who had the lights or who took the photo. Apparently at that time, or at least with the same lighting, photos also were taken of each individual child.

Donna, a little over eight here, had started group violin lessons not long before this photo was taken. She told me she really wanted to take piano lessons, but the opportunity for group violin lessons came along and she took up violin. She did well with the violin and eventually received individual instruction. Naturally this photo had to be taken with her violin.
A pensive Clara was about to turn six when this photo was taken.
Kathryn was about 4½ here. Something clearly tickled her funny bone. Cute!
This photo of Arthur was originally in this previous post, with the Christmas photo. It is included here because it seems to be part of this set of photos. (I didn’t originally associate it with the ones above.) He was a tad under 2½ here. It is a cute pose with the train.

If there was a photo taken of Dorothy along with these, I haven’t come across it. She would have been just under a year old.

I am reliably informed that there were stools like one in the above photo for each child, with the child’s name painted on it. These were the seating around the table at mealtimes. As far as I know, only one of these stools has survived to the present.
