These photos appear to have been taken at various times when Donna was between eighteen months and two years old. It looks as though they were all taken around the Hammell residence at 122 N Sherman. Quite possibly Great-Grandpa John Hammell was the photographer.
This photo was taken in Spring, judging from the flowers. So Donna was about 1½ years old. It’s possible the little cake on the chair was for Donna’s birthday. I suppose this could be early October, but I’m a little doubtful. Maybe the cake was for the doll’s birthday or something like that and this is in late Spring or Summer, which is more what it looks like to me. I could imagine Great-Grandma Hammell doing something like that (making a cake for the doll’s birthday). The blurry flowers in the background tend to suggest it is Summer. Great photo of Donna holding the doll.Summer again, it looks like. Donna is doing a great job as a model. This photo evidently was taken at the same time as the one above. Again, great model!
It’s funny. Just last Saturday Donna was heard to say she “didn’t ever want to be cute” (or words to that effect). So I’m sorry to say this, but there is no denying that Donna is very cute in these photos.
